The Inner Lives of Doctors - Doctors are humans too.

Doctors are also human being.

Doctors attribute to their profession behind closed doors. As patients, we are so overwhelmed with our own problems. We fail to notice that our doctor may be battling her own problems with a complicated system.

They are stuck in a systemic mess.

Patients bargaining and don’t pay up regularly. Medico Legal threats. Costs are rising in every things day by day but when doctors rise treatment costs, they have to give justification so much. Life-and-death ethical dilemmas. Burnout. Loss of value in society.

Doctors are nudged and hassled in a system from which there’s no way out. Yet, they are held to one of the highest performing standards of any profession.

It’s tough being a doctor today.

They are not making as much money as you think.

Unlike most high-end professionals, doctors begin making money after age of 35. Even after investing time, money, knowledge so much, they have waiting period so long to set ourselves. After finishing studies also they have to invest in our private clinics & hospitals. By then doctors accumulate so many debts but continue to fight against debt further into their life considering morals, integrity and ethics.

When doctors start a solo practice, they are overwhelmed by the challenges of sustaining the own  hospital and clinic. Sometimes doctors don't have enough money to start own private practice. Government jobs in healthcare centers are very less. So they search for jobs and join a private clinic or hospital, they work just to have private clinic experience with very less salary.

Some doctors don’t run profitable own private clinic. In fact, many give up field and change the field or go to abroad because it’s tough making a their living. They are more depressed than you’d ever know. Some doctors commit suicide in worst situations.

They silently move through their days by masking their problems. Never making them go away.

Doctors face pressures that the average person doesn’t. Constant lack of sleep, hunger, financial pressures, disconnected from family members, loneliness, erratic lifestyles.

Yes, they have it all.

Doctors are also human being.

Doctors are not god. Of course They are second hope after gods but...

they also have loans and debt to pay.

they also have health issues.

they also have effects of inflation.

they also have relationships problems.

they also feels sadness, disappointments, upsets and depression.

Profession of doctors always consider as noble and very high position but it is equally stressful profession if you want to see as position.

There are no other fields are as stressful as medical and dental.

We doctors work 24/7 hours.

When you are planning for holidays and functions, we are thinking about your treatment plan and appointments.

We doctors dealing with living beings not with artificial things knowing that people asking for terms like guarantees & warrantees.

We doctors skip our breakfast, lunch, dinners, sleep to make you healthy.

We can't sleep until patient's pain is completely gone.

Doctors are also human being.

Speaking against doctors is so easy

Questioning their capability is so easy

Breaking their morals is so easy

What's not easy is to work like them

What's not easy is to risk life like them

What's not easy is to aquire knowledge like them but speaking with your half knowledge is easy.

Why should you care?

Your doctor is also human. With emotions. With challenges. With the additional challenge of constantly being in the position of giving care & compassion and not receiving but doctors mental and emotional state also important. Value the value of your doctor and their treatments. If you value them, both will have win win life. Bringing empathy to the patient-doctor relationship will accelerate the process of health care in its true sense.

It’s good for the patient. It’s good for the doctor.
